HOW TO GENERATE BAR CODE USING EXCEL FORM

Bar code has become a use in the packaging of products all over the world. The essence of Bar code is to make storage and retrieval of items in a database or computer inventory system easier. The picture of the bar code is like that of the international standard book number (ISBN). This code is given to every produced product for a unique identity.

There are different ways of generation a Bar code. this code either be through an online generator, an office line software or through Microsoft office add-in. In this article i will be showing you how to use a simple excel formula to create your own Bar code.

To make a Bar code in excel, we need to down the Bar code 39 font and install. To do that, go to this site www.dafont.com . At the right hand side of the site, click on Bar code as shown on the picture below. 

Scroll down and locate Ccode 39 by Tan Mark. Click and down it to you sister.

Install the software as show below. The install process does not take much time.

After installing the font, open your Microsoft excel and follow the steps below. 

Step 1: locate any cell on the work sheet and type your numbers.

Step 2: type this formula  = "*"&A3&"*" on the adjacent cell and then click on another cell or you press enter on the keyboard.

Step 3:The numbers typed will be in quote. Click on it and then go to font menu and select the bar code font. After selecting the font, your bar code is ready.
